Scam Emails Purport to be from The Rockefeller Foundation
July 7, 2008

It is an unfortunate fact that the Internet can enable certain kinds of fraudulent activity through emails and websites that falsely claim to be associated with The Rockefeller Foundation.

From time to time, scam emails circulate that purport to be from The Rockefeller Foundation. Most recently, emails have been sent in which the recipients are told that they have won a prize, grant or donation from The Rockefeller Foundation. Recipients are told that they must arrange to claim their prize by providing contact information to “Sir Mike Anderson” of The Rockefeller Foundation or a courier service. The email may refer to a delivery fee or insurance cover that must be paid before receiving the prize.

These emails and the persons sending them are not affiliated with The Rockefeller Foundation in any way, and we recommend that you do not respond to them.
